At Social Enterprise NL you will find manuals and other tools that can help you move forward. We developed these tools with a large network of experts. The tools are always online, open-source and freely accessible. This is how we want to spread knowledge about social entrepreneurship and contribute to the professionalization of social enterprises.

Also for non-members

We make our manuals and other tools available to all social entrepreneurs. Whether you are just starting out or have had your business for years. And whether you are a member of Social Enterprise NL or not. The tools cover various topics, such as financing, legal form, impact measurement and setting up a social enterprise. We also provide a list of networks and incubators for startups. In addition, we refer to the Social Enterprise Code, with which you can enhance your profiling and professionalization.

Finance Tool

Finding the right funding mix. This is essential to developing into a healthy and successful social enterprise. But it can be very tricky. Fortunately, the field of impact investors has evolved significantly in recent years. As a result, there are now more opportunities to find the right match between impact investors and social enterprises. With a special overview, we want to give you insight into the funding parties on the market.

The Impact Entrepreneurs Masterclasses

As a budding social entrepreneur, you are often still searching about how to shape your business. In collaboration with Impact Hub Amsterdam and Amsterdam Impact, we are therefore offering seven free master classes for budding social entrepreneurs. This broad series of master classes will cover a variety of topics with the aim of helping impact entrepreneurs further develop as a profitable and above all impactful business. It ranges from impact branding to the power of negotiating, and from finding capital to growth hacking.

Do Good With Data toolbox

Social enterprises are the obvious frontrunners to show how data-driven business can also increase social impact and that you can do this in an ethically responsible way. Data-driven work is hot. Not only for the well-known tech giants, but also for social enterprises. Using data helps solve important social issues. The toolbox contains articles, exercises, tests and links to useful resources that social entrepreneurs and other impact-driven SMEs can use to make even more impact through data-driven business.

Impact measurement tool

It is crucial that you know what social value you create as a social enterprise - and how you do it. Only then can you properly justify yourself and adjust your company where necessary. That is why we developed the publications Impact First and Impact Management, in collaboration with Avance and the Impact Centre Erasmus. The Impactpad is an online and open-source guide that teaches you how to better measure impact.

Networking and growth programs for budding social entrepreneurs

We focus on social enterprises that have at least one year of turnover and a (somewhat proven) earning model. There are organizations in almost all regions that focus precisely on beginning social entrepreneurs. They offer the support and guidance needed. As Social Enterprise NL, we have compiled an overview of such organizations: a list of networks and incubators.

Tool for the right legal form

What legal form is best for your social enterprise? We give you accessible advice on this using nine questions. We also provide suggestions for clauses and wording for your articles of association that will shape your business as a social enterprise. At the end of the questionnaire you will receive a comprehensive document for the legal set-up with some more tips. If you wish, we will also give you a list of notaries who are well acquainted with social enterprises.

Roadmap Working with the Municipality

Improve cooperation with the municipality? The Roadmap Working with the Municipality provides concrete tips for getting in touch with municipalities, connecting your company's story to policy ambitions and getting the municipality as a customer. It also explains concisely how a municipality functions.

Model Statutes

It is the foundation of social enterprise: impact first. It is therefore very important for social entrepreneurs to secure their impact. How do you ensure that the mission is and remains firmly anchored? The bylaws can play a big role in this. Companies can include the social objective, decision-making processes and what happens when the company goes out of business, among other things. Because there are many questions about how best to design articles of association, Social Enterprise NL offers model articles of association, drafted by a notary from CMS, as a possible way to fill them in.

Join the network of social entrepreneurs!

Among other things, Social Enterprise NL offers support in finding funding, mapping your social impact and honing your marketing strategy.
