Good research and education are crucial for the development of social entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. Education is needed to enthuse and properly prepare more students for a career in (their own) social enterprise. Research is important to understand the movement of social enterprises to increase their impact.

Social entrepreneurship program development

In recent years, many higher education institutions have developed programs on social entrepreneurship - partly at the request of students. Here you will find an overview of programs in the field of social entrepreneurship. These institutions also meet periodically in the network. Social Enterprise NL warmly welcomes those program development and meetings and offers support where possible. In addition, several studies on social entrepreneurship have been published in recent years. These can be found under publications.

Social Enterprise Thesis Award

Social Enterprise Thesis AwardMore and more students want to get started with social entrepreneurship. This leads, among other things, to a growing number of theses on this subject. Social Enterprise NL would like to give the theses a stage, put the students in the spotlight and draw extra attention to social entrepreneurship. Therefore, every year it organizes the Social Enterprise Thesis Award - in partnership with Utrecht University's Social Entrepreneurs Initiative.
